Roper Lock Box, established over 40 years ago, started its offerings by assisting realtors nationally with one simple lock box. Referred to as the Avanti Guardian Combination Lock Box – this combination dial box offers thousands of Three(3) letter combinations, and remains a mainstay in realtors toolkit with over 60,000 units distributed since creation.

During the Avanti Guardian’s first years of distribution, we were approached and asked about other solutions in terms of code entry for our Guardian Vaults. Per direct customer engagement and in attempt to solve known problems within our market(s) of expertise, we developed  Three Letter, Four letter and Push Button Lids for our Guardian Lock Boxes. Because our Guardian Vault line was in use with many of the requesting customers, we decided to make all our our lids universal. This means, if you buy a Guardian vault, door hanging or wall mounted, all of our combination entry lids will fit in the same vault. This allows for a versatile array of solutions for coding on a single platform, and without the need to purchase an entirely new box just to change the combination format.

While focusing on lock boxes, Roper Lock Box LLC also provides a diverse array of property preservation supplies. During the early 2000’s, when the real estate market was in retraction, a requirement for property securing arose from an increase in vacant and unoccupied homes. During vacancy and foreclosure, the main objective for property preservation contractors is to secure a property for the owning party or provide asset protection by ensuring no additional damage is done by the elements. This includes changing locks, securing gates, and ensuring the structure to be free of water and humidity. To accommodate these requirements we offer everything needed to properly secure and maintain a property during vacancy or foreclosure. From winterization supply’s, to locksets and Hasps, Roper offers an expansive number of items to make sure any property is maintained to industry standard.

Around this same time we developed our top selling stand alone, single piece box, also known as the Roper Small Four Number Lock Box. This simple lock box is solid, discreet, easy to code, and extremely cost effective. This item is our most popular item by volume, with over 630,000 sold since initial offering. Many industries and individuals currently utilize this box, from realtors to visiting nurses. This box has proven to be both reliable and easy to operate, while remaining extremely affordable.

While manual combination code entry is an efficient and secure way to gain entry into a key storage box most of the time, it does require code memory, in addition to actually inputting a code. While this doesn’t seem like that big of a requirement, in high stress situations, and in situations where moments count that time could prove to be essential in other areas. Nearly 30 years ago, our team was contacted by a local Fire Department and asked, How can we make this easier and more efficient for both us and our residents? We began working and realized, by replacing combination lids with a steel cam lock, securely coded for Roper Lock Critical Entry, could eliminate the need for emergency personnel to store and keep thousands of codes for each resident, and eliminate any failure to operate these less efficient coding mechanisms used in non critical entry applications. With the development of these Critical Entry keyed options, we gained proof of use and utility from our founding emergency service users and their affiliates. This lead to our current Critical Entry Municipality Program. Our program now expands to over 15 states and and is used directly or indirectly by over 100 Emergency Service Departments and their residents.
